My plan to buy Twitter retweets to win the student election worked like a charm. It was a risky gambit, but it actually worked out well for me. I entered the student elections with the intention of winning, but I wasn’t sure how I would go about doing it. I thought of various campaign techniques,t but they were all pretty outdated. Then it hit me. Everyone is connected to the internet through their smart devices and computers, which they use to browse Twitter. I could easily use this to my advantage by getting retweets about me.
I didn’t even need to have a campaign manager, because I was my own manager. The re-tweets would foster a natural conversation about the views I stand for and it would get more people to vote for me.
